Laurelie Maureen Lovell

August 27, 1950 to December 31, 2024

 

Our beloved Laurelie Lovell passed away on December 31, 2024 in Prince albert at the age of 74.  She was born in Prince Albert on August 27, 1950, the third daughter of Lillian and William Lovell.

Laurelie lived at home until her mothers’ passing in 2005.  At the age of 54, even with her sisters living in BC, and the fact she’d never lived on her own, she decided she wanted to stay in Prince Albert.  With the help of Independent Living, the wonderful programs and people of Kin Enterprises, and her cousins Carole Thorsen and Alan Lovell, this was possible.  Laurelie lived independently in Carment Court for several years despite health issues.  She was proud of her accomplishments and we were proud of her.  Her health deteriorated in 2020 and she moved to Birchview Care Home in Birch Hills.  Two years later Laurelie moved back to Prince Albert to Mont St Joseph Home and was able to rejoin her Kin Enterprises family in a day program.

Laurelie loved her family, animals, 60’s music, Timbits, and her favourite – chocolate.  She also loved spending Christmas in BC with her sisters when she was able to travel.

Missing Laurelie are her family:  sister Linda (husband Ivan) Giles, sister Beverley (husband Gerald) Lane, nephew Todd (wife Belinda) Giles, nephew Kevin (wife Tanya) Giles, great nieces Heather and Vanessa Giles, and great nephews Kaden, Tristan, and Makai.
