Raiders return home to welcome Winterhawks
After the Prince Albert Raiders went 1-2 in their Alberta road swing and finished with a 3-0 shutout in Red Deer that snapped their three game losing streak, the Raiders are set to return home ice on Tuesday when they welcome the Portland Winterhawks.
The Winterhawks are in the midst of their own road trip that started in Brandon and is continuing through Saskatchewan. Portland has big wins on the road trip so far, 6-3 in Brandon and 7-3 in Regina, with their last loss coming in the last game before they went on the road, losing 6-3 to Wenatchee at home.
In the standings, the Raiders have bounced around from eighth to fourth in the Eastern Conference standings in recent weeks, but currently they sit tied for sixth with the Brandon Wheat Kings at 43 points, four points back of Edmonton in fifth. The Raiders are sitting 20-15-3-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) through 38 games this year, having lost their last two games at home.
As for Portland, they sit fifth in the Western Conference at 49 points. The Winterhawks are 40 games into the season with a record of 23-14-2-1.
