In Loving Memory of Ludwig Johannes Maria Hesp
July 13, 1950 – December 20, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ludwig Hesp, a devoted husband, world’s greatest father, Opa, and friend, on December 20, 2024. Lud left us surrounded by the love of his family, leaving a legacy of kindness, strength, and unyielding love that will forever guide those who knew him.
Born on July 13, 1950, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Lud was a natural leader, he inspired everyone around him with his wisdom, compassion, hard work and unwavering integrity. Whether for his family, in his community, or his friends, he was someone people could always count on for guidance and support.
Lud had a deep love for the great outdoors, finding peace and joy in camping, reeling in the catch of the day, or hunting. His adventures often became treasured memories with family and friends, and his love for these passions were contagious.
Above all, Lud was a family man. He was the rock of his family, a source of endless pride and unconditional love. He adored his children and grandchildren, finding immense joy in their achievements and growth. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether at family gatherings, cheering from the sidelines, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence at the kitchen table, driving in the truck or beside the campfire.
Ludwig is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Hesp; his children, Adam (Alanna) Hesp, Brenda (Owen) Black & Carly (Virgil) Brons; his grandchildren, Lily, Logan, Layla, Wesley, Sam, Henry, Mason & Maria and many extended family members and friends who were like family to him. His passing leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit will continue to guide us in all that we do.
A celebration of Lud’s life will be held on December 26, 2024, at the Prince Albert Elks Lodge from 2pm to 5pm in a come-and-go format.
Though he has gone from our sight, Lud (Dad) will never leave our hearts. His wisdom, warmth, and love will always be remembered.
Your legacy lives on in the lives you touched and the memories we cherish.
Rest in peace, Eagle Eye
Love you so much Dad. We will miss you.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Ludwig’s care.
