Paramedics deliver baby

It was a busy night for paramedics in Prince Albert.

Parkland Ambulance responded to pedestrian that was hit by a vehicle at 9:45 p.m. Thursday.

The 28-year-old woman was walking at Central and 15th Street when she was struck.

She was taken to Victoria Hospital for further treatment and remains in hospital in stable condition this morning.

At 3:30 this morning paramedic delivered a baby girl in the ambulance on route to Prince Albert from Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

While it is not a common occurrence to deliver a baby in an ambulance, paramedics performed the delivery without complications.

Paramedics were excited to have been part of this out of hospital delivery and congratulate the mom and her family, said a release from Parkland Ambulance.

The mother and baby are in Victoria Hospital.
