Nov 18, 2024 | 5:00 PM

Prince Albert’s Ryan Rohovich has once again raised his arms in victory.

During Saturday’s Fight League Atlantic 17 event in Moncton, New Brunswick, the 37-year-old took on a highly ranked Pat Carroll and won by split decision.

“I knew my opponent was going to be tough and I was expecting some big shots from him. He gave me everything I expected but I knew I was going to win,” Rohovich told paNOW.

Saturday’s fight consisted of three, five-minute rounds and the 5-2 Carroll attempted to use his height and reach advantage. Rohovich however kept his calm and frustrated his opponent with multiple floating jabs and some brilliant strike combos.

When Carroll attempted to go to the ground, Rohovich always appeared to have the answer.

“He caught with a couple jabs, maybe a good couple hooks, but other that you know I think I did all the damage,” Rohovich said.

With the win, Rohovich’s professional record improves to 6-7 and his last fight was just over a month ago in which he lost to Cam Nelson at Fight League Atlantic 16.

Prior to that he fought in June in Edmonton and lost by split decision to Jett Grande. Noting a feeling of being robbed his past two fights, Rohovich said the fight on Saturday felt super important.

“I wasn’t letting that happen this time. I knew I had to go in there to win and I knew I could beat this guy,” he said.

Going forward Rohovich expressed a desire to stay active and fight as often as possible in 2025.

The next Fight League Atlantic event has been scheduled for February and Rohovich aims to be on the card.

“I’m not sure who’d they want to throw at me, but it doesn’t matter. I am ready to fight whoever,” he said.

According to Tapology, Rohovich is the #2, 332 ranked MMA fighter in the North America region. He is also ranked in two North America sub-regions (Canada, Western Canada).
