The judge with the Court of Queen’s Bench ruled that the province's Bill 5 — The Public Services Essential Services Act is in direct violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights.
It's a win on the side of Saskatchewan Federation of Labour over a bill they have protested since it came into effect in 2007.
The second bill taken to task, The Trade Union Amendment Act, was found to not infringe on the rights of employees to organize.
