La Ronge RCMP investigating reports of tampered Halloween candy

Nov 5, 2024 | 3:40 PM

La Ronge RCMP are investigating instances of sewing–style needles located inside chocolate bars that children received while trick-or-treating.

That’s according to an RCMP spokesperson, who said police received the reports between Nov. 1 and 3. An investigation has determined those chocolate bars were handed out in the La Ronge area, but they don’t have the specific areas as to where they came from.

“No injuries we reported to police and La Ronge RCMP continue to investigate,” the spokesperson explained.

“La Ronge RCMP remind parents to double check all items children may have collected while trick-or-treating this Halloween season. Please report any suspicious items to police by dialing 310-RCMP.”
