The Prince Albert Fire Department had a busy start to Halloween.

Within less than an hour, crews responded to two separate structure fires and a shed fire.

The first incident occurred at 12:30 a.m., and involved a shed fire in the 500 block of 12th St. E. Fire fighters extinguished the shed which was destroyed by fire. There was some damage to the exterior siding of a nearby garage. There were no injuries reported.

At 12:32 a.m., the Prince Albert Fire Department responded to the 3600 block of 2nd Avenue West for a report of a structure fire.

On arrival there was a fire burning inside a compound. Further investigation revealed that the fire was intentionally set inside an out building on the property, and staff had removed the burning items and attempted to extinguish the fire prior to the Fire Department’s arrival. The fire was quickly extinguished and there was only minor damage to the building.

And then at 1:10 a.m., the Prince Albert Fire Department responded to the 1700 block of 12 Ave. W. for a structure fire.

On arrival crews discovered a fire in the basement of a multistory home. Firefighters extinguished the fire which caused extensive smoke damage to the structure. All occupants were safely evacuated, and there were no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
