Community Arts Mentorship Program Brings Paid Fiddle Mentorship Program to Stanley Mission
Community Arts Mentorship Program (CAMP), in partnership with the Saskatchewan Orchestral Association (SOA), is pleased to announce the launch of a unique Fiddle Mentorship Program in Stanley Mission, beginning on December 2, 2024.
This six-to-eight-week mentorship will take place on Treaty 6 Territory and aims to revitalize the tradition of fiddling and jigging in Stanley Mission through direct community engagement and skilled teaching. This mentorship offers participants $200 per day, accommodation, and hands-on teaching experience in classroom, community, and private settings.
The program has been developed to address a shortage of trained fiddle instructors in Northern Saskatchewan and is designed to empower local artists to share their skills with the community.
By providing structured guidance and valuable teaching experience, this program will help create sustainable cultural impact, ensuring that future generations have access to learning the art of fiddling.
