Elizabeth Chamberlain’s latest movie role has taken her to the outer limits of the galaxy.

“Alien Horde” takes place in the year 3249, and is about a team of space marines recruited to save the galaxy from a fearsome alien race known as the Shadowreapers. Chamberlain plays one of the marines and told paNOW she’s been a longtime fan of the science fiction genre.

“My dad got me into Star Trek, the Original Series. I also grew up playing a lot of video games,” she said. “I think this movie, the sets, and especially my costume makes me feel like I am living my nerdy childhood dreams.”

The film is being shot in Burbank, California and is currently in the pre-production phase.

Acknowledging she grew up in Saskatchewan, Chamberlain said the opportunity to be filming in Hollywood has been crazy.

“I think when you grow up in a small town in Canada, it’s a bit of a culture-shock coming to a place like this. There’s a lot of history in filmmaking here, and I’m actually here adding to that narrative,” she said.”It feels extremely surreal at times”

Chamberlain then noted one of the filming locations, was directly on the Hollywood Boulevard where the Walk of Fame stars are and if you look up in the hills, you can see the Hollywood sign right from where they are filming.

“To me, that kind of thing is something that was always a dream and now it’s an actual reality for me. It’s actually a bit disorienting,” she said.

With respect to preparing for this role, Chamberlain noted she was given some preparation from another movie she worked involving the military. However one of her current co-stars is legendary martial artist Don “The Dragon” Wilson.

“We did a fight scene where he was basically doing a training scene with us where we were doing some combat. He was teaching us how to punch and how to kick and and what not,” she explained. “That’s so cool to be doing a scene like that with Don “the Dragon” Wilson.

Chamberlain expected to be in California for another two weeks.

This is her fourth film she’s done with Mahal Empire Productions.
