October 16, 1946 – October 12, 2024
Mom (Cecile DeBray) began her gift of eternal life at 7:05am yesterday (Saturday, October 12, 2024). Mom would have been 78 years old on Wednesday, October 16. We take comfort knowing that mom was ready for her journey to her external home. She selflessly helped to prepare all through recent conversations and the signs that we can now reflect upon. Mom had her faith and strong devotion through daily prayer and mass. Mom never complained as she successfully hid her physical pain due to the spread of cancer throughout her body. Our family was blessed with the honour of the most incredible, compassionate, and knowledgeable mother. Thank you, family & friends. We value your continued thoughts and prayers as mom prepared for eternal life. We know that her kindness and compassion that she displayed on earth automatically earns her heavenly Angel wings. We can only imagine the rejoicing as her husband (dad – Edwyn DeBray) who has been waiting 27 years, her son (Randy) waited 5 years, her parents (Sam & Ursula), her siblings, family and friends gather to celebrate with mom. We are forever grateful for the wonderful care that mom received from Rosthern Hospital nurses, doctors & staff. Mom was comfortable as she did not appear to be in any pain during her brief hospital stay. Even in her final breaths, she did not struggle. Her last breath was majestic and very dignified just as she lived her worldly life. Mom shared so much of what she had and positively affected so many people. For many years, mom continued to provide a loving home for numerous hockey billets. Most players would fight for the privilege to stay at her home. Mom loved to watch hockey especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren’s hockey games. She travelled as far as Sunrise, Florida and Thunder Bay, Ontario to support family members with their hockey endeavours. Mom asked to be cremated. Her wishes are not to have a celebration of her extraordinary life. As per her request, we will have a small family graveside memorial next spring to be arranged around her brother’s (Uncle Andre Boyer, OMI) scheduled visit home to Duck Lake. You know mom, she never wanted to bother or inconvenience anyone. We will respectfully carry out mom’s simple and modest requests. Words alone cannot express the significant impact that you have made in the life of family & friends.
Thank You – hiy hiy kinanâskomitin – Merci Beaucoup
