Men’s Softball World Cup Group C Qualifiers get underway in Oklahoma City

Sep 17, 2024 | 1:10 PM

The third and final Men’s Softball World Cup qualifying tournament gets underway in Oklahoma City, USA.

Six teams will look to claim the remaining two spots at next year’s World Cup in Prince Albert, with the United States, Japan, Colombia, Guatemala, South Africa, and the Netherlands looking for a ticket.

Games at the Group C Qualifiers commenced Tuesday afternoon at OGE Energy Field in OKC, while playoffs and the finals will be played at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex on Saturday. Day one action includes Guatemala versus South Africa, the Netherlands against Japan, and the U.S. versus Colombia. A full schedule can be found by clicking here.

Additionally, a wildcard spot remains up for grabs for the country who finished with the best record out of the teams who did not initially qualified, meaning teams from the Group A and B qualifying tournaments still have a chance to make the cut. As it stands entering the Group C Qualifiers, Venezuela sits in the wildcard spot with a 5-2 record and a +20-run differential.

Teams that have already qualified for the World Cup include the Dominican Republic, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, and the host Canada.

The 2025 Men’s Softball World Cup Finals are slated for July 8 to July 13 at Prime Minister’s Park in Prince Albert.
