1937 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rose-Hélène Lafond (nee Gaudet) of Prince Albert, SK, on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Rose-Hélène was a loving, patient, devoted wife and mother who always put others first. Rose was born in Bellevue, Saskatchewan on March 10, 1937, to Alfred and Alexina Gaudet. She was raised with strong Catholic faith helping her endure the challenges that life brought her. Rose-Hélène worked through the years as a teacher, secretary, bookkeeper and bank officer, but most importantly as a mother and wife. She truly loved her husband of 62 years, they made their homes in Leoville, Debden and Prince Albert. She enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life, treasuring the family she and Paul had built together.
Rose-Hélène leaves behind her loving husband, Paul Lafond; her six children, Daniel (Coral) Lafond and their children, Samuel (Niomi) and Benjamin; Ronald (Audrey) Lafond and their children, Andrew (Danielle) and their children, Lochlan, Jackson, Bodan; and Kody; Albert (Yvonne) Lafond and their children, Mikayla (Austin) and Hailey; Guy (Mona) Lafond and their children, Kristie (Colby) and their child Finnick; Kristopher (Ashley) and Kylie (Julia); Therese (Maurice) Mercier and their children, Deon (Danielle), Hillary (Brayden), Melina and Nolan; Alain (Rebecca) Lafond and their children Taylor (Sheena) and their child Brenden; Joshua (Morgan), Zachary (Kelsey) and Alexander; and numerous sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special Thanks to the staff at Victoria Hospital and at the Rose Garden Hospice, where Rose-Hélène spent her last few days surrounded by loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed in memory of Rose-Hélène to Rose Garden Hospice, 500 38th Street West Prince Albert, SK S6W 0A3 or Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert SK.
A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, August 29th at 7:00 pm, and the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 30th at 1:30 pm. Both services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Avenue West, Prince Albert SK, followed by fellowship and food. Interment at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens will follow the funeral service.
