Peter Hnatiw

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Peter Hnatiw announce his passing on August 22, 2024.
Peter was born in the Yellow Creek/Crystal Springs area in 1930 and farmed on the original homestead where he married and had two children. He remained there until the early 1970’s when he then moved with Doris and her children to Regina where he dabbled in numerous jobs until he landed on one he enjoyed.
In 1980 he moved back to the farm and ran his business, Town and Country Memorials, until 2021 when he finally decided to “retire” at 90! At that time his granddaughter Teena took over the company but still Peter would talk to her daily offering advice and guidance.
“Tombstone Pete” believed in hard work, a fair deal and doing things with a quirky sense of humour. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Peter was predeceased by the mother of his children Louise, his partner Doris, his stepson Randy and his step grandson Riley.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Stan (Karen Jean) their children, Nina (Kyle), Devon (Samantha) and their two sons Bennett and Finnley.
Marilyn (Murray) and her children Teena (Andy) and Courtney (Lauren).
His stepdaughter, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Judy (Vern) their sons Tyson, Shane (Kim) and their children Trinity, Zoey and Jayden.
Many extended family and friends, too many to mention, will dearly miss him as well.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Crystal Springs at the Rec Hall (the old school) on October 27, 2024 2:00PM-after harvest per Peter’s request.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made at donor’s choice.
