Unsolved murders

‘People in that group are talking and they are cooperating.” PA family holds out hope for unsolved murder case

Another year has passed and Marci Marner is still waiting to hear who was responsible for her daughter’s death.

Sunday marks the three-year anniversary of Chrystal Castle’s disappearance from Prince Albert. Roughly two weeks later she was found deceased in a rural area west of St. Louis. Investigators have suggested to Marner that multiple people were involved.

“People in that group are talking and they are co-operating,” Marner said. “[Police] know where to look now.”

Castle was last seen in a red Dodge Dakota truck by the Circle K convenience store on 28th St. E. While there’s been nothing definitive, including how her daughter died, Marner confirmed she’s heard several stories including one that her daughter was car-jacked.

“Another was that she had a run in with a girl that was a girlfriend of a higher up in Terror Squad because Chrystal was doing ride share,” Marner explained.

Prior to her death, Castle had only lived in Prince Albert for a couple of years. She had previously lived in Estevan but moved to Prince Albert to be with her partner.

Marner acknowledged her daughter had addictions in the past, but added until a recent relapse literally days before her disappearance, had for quite some time been clean and sober.

With respect to how the family plans to mark the anniversary of Chrystal’s death, Marner confirmed the family will be together, and members from as far away as Alberta are driving in.

“Everybody comes together and that’s kind of the plan again,” she said.

The RCMP investigation is ongoing and if anyone has any information, no matter how small the detail, they are encouraged to contact their nearest police detachment or Crime Stoppers.
