Christina Clarke of Stony Rapids is Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire.

On Thursday, the Western Canada Lottery Corporation announced she was the winner of a Vault Breaker jackpot prize totalling $1,448,697. She won the grand jackpot on Vault Breaker at Rock Creek Tap and Grill in Saskatoon on Aug. 1.

“My two sisters and my mom and I were all playing,” Clarke said.

“We each put in $20 and took turns pushing the button. All of a sudden, the Vault Breaker came up. When it hit the grand jackpot, we all erupted in screams. It was very exciting.”

A couple of days after her win, Clarke is still feeling the surprise. She noted she hasn’t made any big plans for her windfall, but she has a few ideas to get started.

“Our dream as sisters is to make sure mom lives a comfortable life,” she explained.

“One sister will finish her education, the other will have some money for her kids’ education, and a couple of us are hoping to do some home renos.”

Vault Breaker is a wide-area progressive which links 4,200 VLTs located in approximately 570 sites in 270 communities across Saskatchewan. The province-wide grand jackpot has a minimum value of $500,000 and pays out before it hits $1.5 million.

The grand jackpot has awarded $42,822,988 to 44 winners since June 2017.
