Rally planned to honour Prince Albert murder victim
More than two weeks after the tragic and sudden death of Trevor Laplante in Prince Albert, public outrage within the surrounding community remains high and an event this week is expected to hear loud calls for action.
On Wednesday, a rally will be held in the parking lot of the provincial courthouse and will start at 8a.m. It’s also the same day when the man accused of murdering Laplante, Michael Bird, is scheduled to make his next court appearance. After the matter to is addressed in court, rally participants may be walking to City Hall.
Rally organizer Jeff Perehudoff told paNOW the reason why he created the “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” event, is to bring the community together to seek the proper justice for Trevor and to also bring awareness and promote changes for our citizens and the most vulnerable.
“I was born and raised here I know this city use to be beautiful and safe, now people are scared or wanting to move away from the city, this is a chance for people to come and support and rally for change and let their voices be heard. We want our beautiful city back,” he said.
