It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother Margaret Ann Roode, age 76 late of Prince Albert. She passed away in Prince Albert at the Rose Garden Hospice.
Margaret was born April 23, 1948, in Prince Albert to Victor and Agnes (Engstrom) Stene. She spent most of her life in the Holbein, Shellbrook and Prince Albert area. She attended Wildrose school and later Shellbrook. She married the love of her life on February 22, 1975, in Calgary, AB. She had 4 loving children, Laurie (Stene) Sigfuson (Blair Schulte), Lyle and Guylaine Roode and his children Lyndsay Sorenson and Dylan and Danielle Roode, Tanya Roode (Josh Jorgensen), Angie Roode and her stepson Owen Bird. Margaret’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had various jobs throughout Saskatchewan from cooking to dispatching trucks in the oil fields to her last job in a daycare before retiring. Mom enjoyed playing in her flower beds and planting flowers in her tire planters that dad had made her. She also enjoyed playing crib, doing puzzles and bird watching. We spent many weekends at the races and camping at the lake.
She is survived by her sibling Garnet Stene; brothers-in-law Albert Roode, Alvin (Florence) Roode; sisters-in-law Opal Harris, Fay (Don) Philp, Phyllis Soles and Shirley Roode; along with numerous nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
