Time to report potholes in Prince Albert

City crews are back on the task of repairing the perennial pothole issue in Prince Albert, with the main focus on major arterial streets.

This year’s repair program has started late because of the perpetual rain that fell until recently but is now in full swing.

Crews began in mid-spring, repairing as weather allowed.

Potholes are formed when moisture, such as snowmelt or rain, seeps into cracks in the pavement. When this moisture freezes, it expands, putting pressure on the crack and causing the asphalt to break away. Vehicle traffic can further erode the edges, increasing the size of the pothole.
