RCMP are on the hunt for two inmates who ran away from jail.

Police say they got word that two men escaped from a correctional centre in Yorkton on Sunday at 1 a.m.

Thirty-year-old Brett Schnieder and 22-year-old Chase Ahpay are both wanted on a warrant by Yorkton RCMP for being unlawfully at large.

Mounties said Schnieder is roughly 5-foot-6 in height and 140 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair. He has multiple tattoos, including a skull on his right hand, a rose on his left hand, lettering on his eyes and cheek, and numerous other tattoos on his neck, arms, and fingers. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and jeans.

Ahpay was described by police as having dark brown hair and was last seen wearing a grey sweatsuit and black and white shoes.

Investigators believe Schnieder and Ahpay are looking for a ride, but it is unknown whether the pair are still together or separated.

RCMP asked people to lock their vehicles and not pick up hitchhikers.

Anyone who sees Schnieder or Ahpay was advised to not approach them and contact police or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
