City to plow snow surplus back into savings
A lack of snow last year has left the City of Prince Albert with some extra money in its snow clearing budget.
Council will be presented with a breakdown of the revenue and expenses on Monday, but is limited to what it can do with the money because of how it is collected.
The extra $470,000 was collected by a special snow tax on properties and must be spent on snow clearing efforts in the future.
In 2023, the city collected $1,557,000 in snow tax revenue, expecting much of it would be spent clearing snow.
