Our club has had a great and busy 2023 / 2024 4-H year!

This year we have 29 members and 5 leaders from the surrounding areas and our club is also celebrating our 40th Anniversary!!

We held our first meeting of the year in December and our club executive was chosen as follows:

• President – Alex Manson

• Vice president – Rylan MacGillivray

• Treasurer – Courtney Hansen

• Secretary –Allie Porter • District Representatives –Hailey Njaa and Tegan Hovdebo

• Club Reporter – Ava Timm

Lots of activities have taken place this year.

We held our annual weigh day at the at the end of December.

In January we had a fun afternoon of skating and pizza at the Kinistino Rink.

Other activities this year have included a couple fundraisers, hosting speeches for both our club and district levels, learning about the beef carcass with a magnetic life size model and having a hands-on demo day.

Our club would like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts this year through the lunch counters at the Weldon Jackpot, Birch Hills Curling Bonspiel and through our Facebook online auction fundraiser. We greatly appreciate all the support!

We would like to invite everyone to attend our 4-H weekend coming up in June. Our local Achievement Day will be held at the Weldon arena on Saturday, June 8 th.

Following that we will be at the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds for the Regional Show + Sale. The female show will be on Sunday with the steer show and sale being on Monday, June 10 th. The sale will be starting at 3:00pm. If you are unable to attend in person, the show and sale will be broadcasted on www.dlms.ca.

Our club has the privilege of having this years Charity Steer for our Regional Show + Sale.

We have chosen this year’s recipient to be the Ronald McDonald House to help and support their new campaign of raising funds for the new construction of building a 12-room house in Prince Albert. Thank you to JGL Livestock for sponsoring the steer as well as Lake Country Coop for supplying the feed

If you are interested in donating to our chosen charity, please contact any of our Weldon 4-H Beef Club families or leaders. We will be taking donations up until Monday June 10 th before the sale. Donations can be made in $20 increments in return for a chance to win the Charity Steer and fill your freezer!

As our 4-H year wraps up we would just like to give a final shout out to everyone who supports our club.

We greatly appreciate it and are fortunate to have such great supporters in and around our communities!
