Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for parts of northwestern and north central Saskatchewan on Friday morning, which includes many popular lake destinations and camping spots.

The weather agency said they’re expecting 50 to 60mm of rain to fall in those areas and added that the wet weather will continue through Saturday afternoon.

The affected areas are:

– District Of Lakeland (areas of Emma Lake and Anglin Lake)

– Prince Albert National Park (areas of Waskesiu Lake and Elk Ridge)

– Communities of Île à la Crosse, Buffalo Narrows, and Beauval (area of Peter Pond Lake)

– R.M. of Beaver River (areas of Pierceland and Goodsoil)

– R.M. of Big River (areas of Big River and Chitek Lake)

– R.M. of Loon Lake (areas of Loon Lake and Makwa)

– R.M. of Meadow Lake (areas of Waterhen Lake First Nation and Green Lake)

– R.M. of Paddockwood (areas of Candle Lake and Paddockwood)

Environment Canada advises that heavy downpours can lead to flash floods along with water pooling on roadways and that flooding in low-lying areas is a possibility.
