Alice Boutin
1939 – 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Alice Boutin, announce her peaceful passing on November 7, 2023. She now joins her beloved husband, Paul Boutin, in the embrace of heaven. Alice will be deeply missed by her children and cherished grandchildren.
Alice, the daughter of Johanna and Louis Doderai, was born into a world of love and lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and enduring devotion to her family. She cherished her early years growing up with her brother, Louis.
She spent her formative years in the small town of St. Louis, Saskatchewan, where she laid the foundation of her future. It was there that she crossed paths with Paul Boutin. Their love story began, leading them to the town of Domremy, Saskatchewan, where they became partners in Boutin Construction and established a family farm. Alice not only raised her children there but also dedicated herself to preparing meals for the staff, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
Two years into their journey, they were blessed with a beautiful family. Alice enjoyed gardening and volunteering in many community clubs and events, you could always count on mom to cook up and serve something delicious for the fall suppers. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. She was always available with helping hand whenever needed. In 2003, our hearts were heavy as we said goodbye to dad, and mom made a new home in a Prince Albert condo, where she found solace in the company of friends and family over cups of coffee and cherished visits.
In later years, as her health began to wane, Mom relocated to Bethesda Private Care Home, where she found care and comfort for four years. Her unwavering spirit and determination carried her through a lengthy hospital stay, and she spent her final moments surrounded by family at the Big River Health Centre.
She was predeceased by her father Louis Doderai Sr., her mother Johanna Doderai (nee Zurowski), her brother Louis Doderai Jr., and three brothers-in-law, Pierre Boutin, Constant Boutin, and Henri Boutin, as well as two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Boutin (Pierre) and Aline Boutin (Henri). She is survived by her three sisters-in-law, Celine (Louis) Doderai, Jeaninne (Contant) Boutin, and Lorraine (Andre) Boutin, and one brother-in-law, Andre Boutin.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Diabetes Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and a devoted family:
- Noel (Carolyn) Boutin, their daughter Natasha (Chadd) Burnett, along with their children Troy and Anastasia, and their son Nicholas (Abby) and their children Lucas, Liam, and Kayslin.
- Carmen (Allan) Robertson, their children Taylor Robertson (Taylor Solberg) and Charity Robertson (Michael Fenwick), along with their children Johnny and Larissa.
- Corinne (Lee) Penner, and their children Alex (Keagan), Nicole, and Ethan.
In celebration of Alice Boutin’s life, we remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who touched our hearts with her kindness and grace. Her legacy will forever shine brightly in our hearts and memories.
