Charges laid following shooting in Prince Albert’s East Hill area

There is new information available in connection to a shooting incident in Prince Albert’s East Hill neighbourhood Wednesday night, that sent one man to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Harley Theriault and Brennan Sewap, two of the three people arrested, made their first court appearances Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

With respect to Theriault, he’s facing several charges including aggravated assault and discharging a firearm at a person with intent to wound, maim or disfigure.

Sewap, who was previously wanted by police for unrelated matters, is currently only facing breach related charges.

In the late evening of Feb. 28, police were called to the 700 Block of 22nd Street East, near the Cooke Municipal golf course.

The victim, a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, was at last word recovering in hospital.

Through their investigation, police learned the suspects involved in the shooting had gone into a home on the street, which police then blocked off and tried to contact the suspects inside to no avail.

The Emergency Response Team was called and by 8:30 Thursday morning, three suspects left the house and were arrested.

The third person arrested, a 31-year-old woman, was arrested but release with no charges.

Police say that it was not a random attack and no further arrests are anticipated.
