One person charged with second-degree murder following homicide in La Loche

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes are investigating a homicide that happened in La Loche on Thursday afternoon.

At around 4:45, police were advised by EMS of an altercation that happened at a residence in the community which resulted in the hospitalization of a 42-year-old female.

The victim was transported to a hospital in Saskatoon where she died from her injuries a day later. Her family has been notified.

As a result of the death, Major Crimes took over the investigation where they arrested and charged 58-year-old Glenda Piche of La Loche with one count of second-degree murder.

Piche was remanded into custody and will appear in court in La Loche on Tuesday.
