It's Back

P.A. Winter Festival set to kickoff

Feb 9, 2024 | 6:00 AM

The Prince Albert Winter Festival (PAWF) is officially back for another year.

The annual event, which is in its 60th year, kicks off Friday with the Country North Show. It’ll be followed by the Country North Cabaret on Saturday and Youth Extravaganza on Sunday.

“It’s all planned and ready to go,” said Bev Erickson, president of the PAWF.

Some of the outdoor events are still up in the air due to the inconsistent weather the city has received this winter. This includes dog sled races and snow sculptures.

Erickson said they plan on waiting until the middle of next week to see if these types of events will happen or not.

“We’ll wait to see what the ground conditions are like, if it’s too icy for the animals, snow cover is sufficient enough,” she added.

There is a contingency plan if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
