More Saskatchewan producers eligible for livestock feed assistance
The eligibility area has expanded, and deadline extended for the 2023 Canada-Saskatchewan feed program.
It’s in response to the dry conditions that impacted livestock producers through the later months last fall.
Ten additional designated Rural Municipalities (RMs) are now added to the area eligible for full cost-shared funding of an initial payment up to $150 per head. This includes the RM of Rosthern, RM of Bayne west of Humboldt, RM of Britannia north of Lloydminster and seven RMs surrounding Regina.
The application deadline has been extended by two weeks to March 15. Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister David Marit said this allows Saskatchewan producers more time to review and finalize applications.
