Thomas “Thompson” Leonard Mirasty was born on March 19, 1949, in Little Red, SK, and passed away on January 25, 2024, in Big River, SK, at the age of 74 years.

Thomas is survived by his loving family, his wife, Sharon Mirasty; his children, Martha, Angus (Corley), Yul (Ramona), Mary (Thomas), Hume, Katherine (Dorin), Margaret (Mark), Junior (Courtney); his 47 grandchildren; his 23 great grandchildren; his numerous god children; his brothers, Dougie, Gilbert, Alex, John Boy, Henry, Rev. Sam Halkett(s), Bobby Joseph, Alex, Floyd, Dale, Absolom and Gordon Felix; his sisters, Priscilla Felix, Vicky Joseph, Lucy Henderson, Lena Halkett, Phylis Moccasin; his Auntie, Flora Olsen; his spirit brother, Howard Badger (Twin Bears); his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-law’s and outlaws and adopted children.

He was predeceased by his mother, Rev. Emily Felix; his father, Robert Halkett; his step father, Leo Felix; his grandmother, Catherine Mirasty (nee: Morin) & Adam Mirasty; his mother and father in-laws, Roderick & Margaret Sanderson, his brothers, Gordon, Isaac, Leonard Halkett, his sister, Katherine “Jean” Badger and his 7 great grandchildren, twins Steven & Forrest Charles and 6 rainbows.

The pipe ceremonies for Thomas will be held at 9 a.m., on Sunday, January 27, 2024, for the pipe singing ceremony, at 8 a.m., on Monday, January 28, 2024 for the pipe ceremony with the evening feast and pipe ceremony, at 8 a.m., on Tuesday, January 29, 2024, pipe ceremony with farewell pipe ceremony after funeral at Little Red River School, in Little Red River reserve, SK. The funeral ceremony is at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Little Red River School, SK with the traditional elder’s Officiating.  Interment to follow at Little Red Cemetery, in Little Red River Reserve, SK.
