Allen Chalupiak
1958 ~ 2024
Allen Marvin Chalupiak, 65, went to be with his Lord on January 1, 2024.
Son of Florence (née Pacholka) and Marvin Chalupiak, he was born on September 23, 1958, in Prince Albert, SK. At the age of six the family moved to Lanigan, SK, as Marvin had been hired to build an addition to the Lanigan Hotel. It was at that young age that Allen’s love for carpentry and construction began. He went on to learn all his skills from the very best: his dad. Together the father-son duo completed many projects under the Marv’s Construction family business.
Allen met his wife Leslie Blacklock at Moose Jaw in 1978 where they both were enrolled in Architectural-Engineering Technology. What started as “just fishing friends” they eventually became husband and wife on December 29, 1983. After this time Allen relocated his construction business to Prince Albert and they commenced a busy life of work, friends and raising their three children. Allen completed many projects in and around the Prince Albert area throughout his career with Dominion Construction. In 2008 Allen took on the role of Site and Facilities Manager at The Quest at Christopher Lake. It was at this camp that Al lived some of his best years; endlessly busy and passionately serving his Lord through his work and engagement with youth, children and adults, alongside his daughter up until when he retired in 2018. Not one to sit down for too long, he began to plan and build, with the help of his sons, Leslie and Al’s dream home and shop in the woods.
Allen is preceded to heaven by his parents; and his beloved niece, Jessica. He is survived by Leslie; son, Taylor and wife Caitlin; daughter, Emily and husband Jeff; son, Nelson; four grandchildren, Levi, Noah, Reuben and Nixon; and sister, Grace and husband Lory.
Allen was a deeply beloved father, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend. Al was known for being incredibly committed to both his work and his hobbies. He excelled in the exacting nature of carpentry and loved drilling into the details of his hobbies such as fishing, model plane building, camping, outfitting their fifth-wheeler, smoking trout, and barbecuing the perfect steak. Over the years, Al shared much of his knowledge in these pursuits with his children.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at https://www.arbormemorial.ca/en/riverpark/obituaries/allen-chalupiak/117682.html . Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
