Western Canadian Crop Production Show Returns Better than Ever

Jan 3, 2024 | 8:54 AM

The 41st annual Western Canadian Crop Production Show presented by Farm Credit Canada will take place in a new 3-day format, January 9-11, 2024 at the World Trade Center Saskatoon at Prairieland.

The premier grain-industry event will host hundreds of valued exhibitors under one roof during their off-season to network and discover the latest information in crop science, technology, and innovation. Vendors will have the opportunity to showcase their latest products and services that prairie farmers want and need each year ahead of the growing season.

Guests will enjoy free ample parking at Prairieland, as well as plenty of on-site food and beverage options, all just steps away.

The 2024 program once again welcomes Nufarm as it’s Information Theatre sponsor, and will have Nufarm’s Technical Services Manager, Tyler Gullen, promote their new technology and its efficiency for managing tough weeds.

Other speakers focus on topics such as sustainability advances, new crop varieties from the University of Saskatchewan’s Crop Development Centre, 2023 grasshopper populations and 2024 prospects, remotely sensed imagery in agriculture, and more.

Additionally, on Tuesday, January 9th at 12:30 pm, the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame will be announcing the names of the individuals who will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2024. A more formal induction ceremony will take place at Prairieland on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

The Western Canadian Crop Production Show is also proud to announce the addition of an Innovation Award program designed to showcase the exhibitor inventions that bolster creative innovation in the agriculture industry.

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of real farmers that possess the insight needed to truly assess the needs the submissions address.

The top three finalists will have the opportunity to speak about their innovations on Thursday, January 11 at 10:30 am.

Prior to this, the winner will be announced at the Barley Bash Exhibitors Mixer, sponsored by Farming For Tomorrow, on the evening of Tuesday, January 9, and will take home the 2024 Innovation Award at the end of the event.
