Riders trade away Glenn, Messam ahead of CFL trade deadline
Two major players on the Saskatchewan Roughriders offence have been traded away ahead of the CFL trade deadline Wednesday afternoon.
Two-time Riders quarterback Kevin Glenn was traded to the Montreal Alouettes for a draft pick. The veteran CFL quarterback had signed with the Green and White ahead of the 2015 season. He became the team’s starting quarterback following Darian Durant’s season-ending injury in the first game of the season.
Just before deadline, the Riders made a trade with the Calgary Stampeders that has national running back Jerome Messam headed to Alberta in exchange for national kicker Tyler Crapigna, a third round selection in the 2016 draft, and the rights to a negotiation list player. The Riders also included a fifth round pick in the draft as part of the deal.
Deal is official. Stamps get Jerome Messam and a 5th rounder in exchange for Tyler Crapigna, a 3rd rounder and a neg list player. #CFL
