Raiders sign third-round pick from 2023 Draft

Dec 27, 2023 | 3:00 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders have signed who they’re hoping will lead the team between the pipes in the future.

The club announced on Monday that they had signed Steele Bass to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

He was chosen in the third round, 49th overall, in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. He was the fifth goalie taken off the board with a total of 16 being drafted.

Bass currently plays for the Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U18 team in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). In seven games, he’s posted a 5-1-1 record with a 3.21 GAA and .900 SV%.

Bass is the sixth player drafted by the Raiders in the 2023 Draft to sign with the team. He joins first-overall pick Daxon Rudolph, second-overall pick Riley Boychuk, seventh-overall pick Ty Meunier, second-round pick Benett Kelly, and fourth-round pick Jonah Sivertson.
