Pauline Ford
1932 ~ 2023
Pauline Mary Ford passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Villas, in Prince Albert, SK. Pauline was born in Montreal, Quebec, on October 21, 1932. Her father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was posted briefly in Montreal at the time. She was the youngest of 6 children, five of whom were girls. Her teenage years were spent at Ottawa’s Little Theatre in acting classes, as a prop girl, and as a prompter. She loved all types of music and enjoyed playing the piano.
Pauline graduated with a Grade 12 education from Notre Dame Convent in Ottawa. After high school, she enrolled in a one-year Commercial Course at the Convent.
While living in Toronto, she met her husband, Fred, at a Newman Club dance during the Christmas season. During their marriage, they moved around quite a bit, but ended up in Saskatchewan, where her husband worked for the Department of Natural Resources.
Pauline had a strong penchant for writing, history, and genealogy. These interests were fulfilled in her favourite places of employment, the Diocese of Prince Albert, and as a Women’s Editor at the Daily Herald. She was also a life time member of the Prince Albert Historical Society.
Pauline had a quick wit and loved to engage in humorous conversations. Above all, Pauline’s love of each family member and her Irish Catholic faith brought her the most joy. Our memories of her cheerful nature and fun-loving spirit will be greatly treasured.
Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Ken Hebblethwaite; her grandson, Daniel Hebblethwaite; her brothers-in-law, Joe and Ed; and sisters-in-law, Nora, Florence, Susan, and Jean; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Fredrick Ford; her infant son, Joseph; her son, James; her parents, Roland and Jane; her sisters, Marjorie, Elaine, Frances, and Joan; and her brother, Bob.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Caleb Village/Points West Living and Good Shepherd Villas who provided warm and kind support. The medical care by Dr. Sriram, Dr. Alanna Surkan, and the Home Care palliative nurses were greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Pauline’s feathered friends, Pineapple and Kiwi, at Good Shepherd Villas who provided hours of delight and entertainment.
The Funeral Mass for Pauline will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the St. Joseph Parish, in Prince Albert, SK. Interment to follow at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Pauline’s memory to a charity of your choice.
