William Blair
1944 ~ 2023
William “Bill” K. Blair, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in Prince Albert, SK. He was born on November 29, 1944, to George “Wilbur” and Dorothy Blair, and grew up on his family farm near Melfort, SK. Bill is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Alison (Greg); son, Doug (Tammy); his three siblings, Alan (Arlene), Berna, George (Kathy); and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill will be forever remembered as an artist, musician, and avid outdoorsman. He loved to be surrounded by nature and found his happy place in the family cabin at Candle Lake, SK, where he spent many a day hiking, quadding, fishing, and entertaining friends. He was known for his quick wit and no-nonsense approach to life. Bill was a natural entertainer and a fantastic storyteller; you could not help but chuckle along as you got lost in his ever so slightly embellished stories.
Bill met his wife Carol one summer while they were both working at Waskesiu Lake. They were married on June 13, 1970, and settled in Prince Albert, SK, where they raised their family. Bill began his career as a surveyor for Saskatchewan Department of Highways, and later made the transition to become a corrections officer at Saskatchewan Penitentiary until his retirement in 2000.
Memorial service to be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at https://www.arbormemorial.ca/en/riverpark/obituaries/william-blair/116539.html .
