Esther Elizabeth Peterson, Feb 18, 1925 – Nov 13, 2023
Esther was born in Calder, Sask., one of nine children to Herman and Anne Benson. She grew up in the Leask and Canwood rural areas. She spent many years on a farm near Canwood alongside her husband Berge Peterson. They raised two daughters (Sandra & Lorraine) and two sons (Larry & Rick).
After Berge’s passing, Esther and Rick moved on, spending time in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Nelson, BC and eventually settled in Winfield and then Kelowna, BC. Along the way Esther furthered her education by becoming a hairdresser and eventually had her own beauty shops in the basements of her Winfield homes. She enjoyed looking after her big gardens, playing horseshoes, walking, curling, line dancing, sewing, playing cards and cooking/baking marvelous foods. After her retirement, Esther traveled to various overseas destinations and the USA.
Esther was a kind and loving lady. To our delight, she had several mannerisms and sayings that were rather comical and are still remembered fondly today. She was a very social person, always a joy to be around and will truly be missed.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Berge and son Larry, as well as siblings Ralph, Mary, Dora, Ed, Ellen, Mable and Arthur. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Peterson, Lorraine Adamson, son Rick Peterson and brother Adolph Benson.
Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Prince Albert, Sask. summer of 2024.
