John Winston Tuba
1948 – 2023
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend John Winston Tuba. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. John was a loving, caring, mischievous prankster. Teamed with his little brother, that he had to talk to every day, no one was safe from their pranks, especially their wives. The two would even go after each other, John always seemed to come out on top, but as his brother found out everything was always better then a slap in the belly with a wet fish.
John was a social butterfly which served him well as the co-manager, with his brother, of the Cinema IV & VI and later as a commissioner at Sask Polytech. He loved being able to talk and joke with all the staff, patrons, and students that he met. He especially cherished his coffee group dearly. Of course, nothing discussed with this coffee crew was ever inappropriate (wink wink).
John loved hunting and fishing trips with friends and family but loved telling the tales of escapades that happened on the trips even more. Darlene was able to put him back in his place by mentioning how her fish was just a little bigger than his.
Thank you to everyone for the stories and precious time visiting during John’s final days.
Thank you to the great staff on level 6 at the Victoria Hospital and a very special and heartfelt thank-you to the amazing staff for the wonderful care and respect that Dad received at the Rose Garden Hospice.
Donations in memory of John to the Rose Garden Hospice, http://www.rosegardenhospice.ca/ would be greatly appreciated.
