MCDONALD, Andy
Our hearts are broken as we let you know that one of the most beautiful human beings, Andy Joseph Germain McDonald, soared to the spirit world on November 6, 2023, at the age of 66. Born February 27, 1957 in Uranium City, SK, Andy had a difficult childhood. He was taken to the Timber Bay Residential School at the age of 3 ½ and spent the next 10 years there. His teenage years were spent running dog teams and trying to get to know his family again. Andy became a professional miner and worked many places, telling stories as he moved around. Our blended family came together in 1997 and our kids were all that mattered in his world. Andy loved to fish and spin tales with his buddies. His world-famous Bannock and big meals were savoured by all. Andy cherished every moment he had with our kids until his passing and touched many lives. Andy is survived by his loving wife Kim, and our children and grandchildren; Norman (Robbie), Wynona (Joshua) their sons Lincoln and Hendrix, Gavin (Jelly), Tiffany (Ryan) their son Bodie, Erin (Brad) their daughters Alysha, Casandra, and Reanna, Jesse (Lisa) their children Prestyn (Cole) their future daughter, Owen (Brooklyn), Kasen, and Kenzie, sisters Trish, Traci, and Nancy, brothers Stephan, Marc, and Dani. Andy is pre-deceased by his father Andre Auclair, mother Anita MacDonald, grandmother Harriet MacDonald, mother-in-law Patricia Baird, his favorite uncle Sonny MacDonald, and numerous aunts and uncles. Andy has requested that his ashes be spread at Beaver Lodge Mountain in Uranium City, which his family will do next year. A Celebration of Life will be held for Andy from 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on November 26th, 2023 at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63 (606 Spadina Crescent West, Saskatoon, SK). There will be refreshments and luncheon provided, with an opportunity to share stories and memories of Andy if you wish. A heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses, and doctors at St. Paul’s Hospital for providing amazing care and emotional support to Andy and his family during this difficult time.
