Rose Umpherville

It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Umpherville, late of Prince Albert, SK announce her peaceful passing on November 1st, 2023, at the age of 86 years. Rose was born on August 21st, 1937, in Green Lake, SK to Leon and Virginia (Laliberte) Morin.
Mom (Rose) was the second oldest of 10 children. She went to a Catholic School in Green Lake with Nuns, Mom said she learned a lot from them. At home, she helped with her younger brothers and sisters. Her dad was a trapper, hunter, and fisherman. In the summer Rose and her best friend Alma McKay would go camping to pick berries while Grandpa hunted.
Mom (Rose) married Clair Umpherville on November 29th, 1956, and then had Marlene and Joan who were born in Meadow Lake, SK. In 1957 they moved to Prince Albert, SK, and had five more children Virginia, Janet, Terry, Arlene, & Clarence. Mom was a hard worker. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was a kind loving and caring person who was dedicated to her family.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her children Joan Umpherville, Virginia Umpherville, Terry (Gloria) Umpherville, & Arlene (Steve) Umpherville; 18 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband Clair Umpherville; her children Marlene Laliberte, Janet Ratt, & Clarence Umpherville; her parents Leon (Virginia) Morin; her siblings Bella (Edward) Kennedy, Alcide Morin, Louie Morin, Joe Morin, Edna Deschambeault, Alma Durocher, Angus Lavalle, Pauline (Babes) Maurice, & Roger Morin; her 7 grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild; & her in-laws Richard (Elizabeth) Umpherville. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at 4 PM at the Nordale Hall in Prince Albert, SK. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at 11 AM at the Nordale Hall in Prince Albert, SK. The Officiant will be Howard Cook. The Interment will take place at the South Hill Cemetery in Prince Albert, SK. The Eulogy will be read by Angela Bishop & Helen Thunderchild. The Honourary Pallbearers are Francis Laliberte, Arther Lavalle, Myrna McKay, Michael Laliberte, Ernie Deshambeault, Irene Hanson, Joseph Laliberte Sr., Floyd Bear, Marlene Bear, Daryl Morin, Victor Carriere, Angela Bishop, Keith Kennedy, Carsyn Umpherville, Sandy Merasty, Edward Kennedy, Justice Umpherville, Marilyn Deshambeault, Shelly Laliberte, Brenda Sayese, & Georgina Deshambeault. The Pallbearers are Martin Thunderchild, Grant Umpherville, Joseph Laliberte Jr., Tony Umpherville, Justin Thunderchild, & Jordan Thunderchild.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the 4th and 5th floor of Victoria Hospital, as well as the nurse and home care staff of Prince Albert, SK.
