Saskatchewan Court of Appeal rules essential services legislation is valid
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal has ruled the government's essential services legislation to be valid, saying the changes do not eliminate the right to strike.
The decision which came down at 9:30 a.m. Friday, effectively overturns a previous ruling that says the legislation is unconstitutional.

A Court of Queen's Bench justice ruled in February 2012 that the Public Service Essential Services Act infringes on employees' right to freedom of association. However, the government argued that the ruling broke new ground when it stated there is charter protection for the right to strike.
