Correction: an attempted murder charge, previously indicated by paNOW as being outstanding, had in fact previously been stayed by the Crown.

Less than a week after being granted release, on the expectation he appear for trial, a man accused of assaulting three Prince Albert police officers was nowhere to be found when called upon Thursday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Germaine Michel, 32, is subsequently now the subject of a bench warrant.

In relation to the alleged incident that occurred on Jan. 9, 2023, Michel was also charged with failing to stop a motor conveyance while being pursued by police; dangerous driving; and breach of a previous probation order.

The lawyer representing Michel, Loree Richardson, informed Judge Daunt she made several attempts to contact her client but received no response.

According to court records, Michel has another trial date scheduled for Nov. 1 relating to an incident last March and involves a number of gun related charges and resisting arrest.

A trial date of Dec. 1 has also been secured for a separate incident involving a vehicle theft. That offence also occurred in Prince Albert in March.
