Beverly Cassidy
1951 – 2023
It is with great sadness the family of Beverly Ann Cassidy (nee Wilgenhof) announce her passing on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 after a lengthy battle with an auto immune disease. Bev was diagnosed in August 2022 but was fortunate enough to have 14 additional months to spend with her loving family.
She is predeceased by her loving parents George and Elsie Wilgenhof and in-laws Richard and Doris Cassidy. Bev is lovingly survived by her husband Clark; children, Chad and Wade (Thea) Cassidy; grandchildren, Ethan, Declan and Grayson; sister Sandra Greenwood and brother Robert Wilgenhof; as well as her family-in-law, Jim (Donna) Cassidy, Bonnie Cassidy, Heather (Leon) Zelensky and Alana Cassidy (Patty Tetreault); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bev was born on December 8th, 1951 in Prince Albert, SK. Bev (aged 14) met the love of her life Clark (aged 17) on a blind date in 1965, and married in 1970. Two children followed in the mid 70’s while Bev settled into the life of a proud homemaker. As her children grew up Bev took employment at a Prince Albert Preschool and as a legal secretary with Eggum Abrametz. Bev’s favorite pastimes included reading, watching her favorite soaps, meeting friends for coffee, attending her children’s activities and many years attending the Black Hills motorcycle rally with close friends. It didn’t take Bev long to retire following Clarks retirement and enjoy 13 winters in Texas riding the motorcycle with her husband and making new friends, as well as enjoying her grandchildren’s activities.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank all the Health Care professionals along Bev’s 14 month journey of battling her auto immune disease, especially the compassionate care Bev received in her final days at the St. Paul’s ICU.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert SK.
