William “Bill” John Arlington Royea
1950 – 2023
William “Bill” John Arlington Royea passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023 with his wife Terri at his side. He was 72 years old.
Bill was born in Montreal, QC on December 21, 1950. When he was 10, the family moved to Belleville, ON and in 1970 Bill joined the RCMP, where he served exclusively in Saskatchewan. He had a fulfilling and rewarding career. He maintained his integrity, kindness, and compassion for his 43 years of service. He retired with the rank of Sergeant in 2013.
Aside from his enduring career in the RCMP, Bill enjoyed traveling, being outdoors and spending time with his wife and their rescue greyhounds. He was a kind and true gentleman.
Bill spent the past two years in the wonderful, compassionate and excellent care of the aides, nursing, dietary and environmental services staff at Pineview Terrace. They made him comfortable and we always felt assured he was receiving the best of care. Thank you so much to the staff.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Dorothy, and his beloved aunt Arlene Royea and uncle Louis Boisvert. He is survived by his devoted wife Terri, his sister Catherine, nephew Graham and family, son Ken and family, and son Mark.
In keeping with Bill’s request, no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date at the RCMP Cemetery at Depot, Regina.
