ANDERSON, Eric (Shmeric) Scott

April 27, 1977 – September 29, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Eric Scott Anderson announce his passing at Royal University Hospital on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the young age of 46, surrounded by love. Eric was born in Prince Albert, SK on April 27, 1977, to Gerry and Betty Anderson. He spent his early years in Prince Albert, graduating from St. Mary’s High School, eventually moving to Saskatoon to attend college. As a little boy, Eric loved racing his BMX bike and won the Saskatchewan Championship at only eight years old. He also enjoyed having fun and getting into mischief with his east-end buddies that grew to be lifelong friends. After graduating college, with a major in Accounting, Eric spent the majority of his twenties living and experiencing life in a few different Canadian cities, before finally settling in Saskatoon to be closer to his family, with whom he was very close. He had a very special bond with his nephews and nieces; he was so very proud of and deeply loved each of them. Eric spent the last 15 years living and working in Saskatoon, creating a beautiful community of friends that really became family in his heart. The true centre of his heart though, and the person that held the most importance in his life, was his daughter, Zerra. He became a father in September 2013, and spent the last 10 years of his life living what he felt was his true purpose: being the best dad possible to his daughter. Eric was diagnosed with cancer in February 2023 and battled it like a true warrior, with tenacity and grace. Through his journey, he was still there for his daughter in every way possible. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him, most of all his daughter.

Eric is survived by his daughter, Zerra Anderson (Aimee Allan) of Saskatoon; parents, Gerry and Betty of Prince Albert; sister, Tina (Joey, and their children Hana and Kristopher) Ruszkowski of Buckland; niece, Jessica (Josh and son, Jack) Holz of Prince Albert; nephew, Brock Anderson of Prince Albert; grandfather, Myles Anderson of Prince Albert, and his devoted cat, Sitchen. Eric was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Anderson; maternal grandparents, Douglas and Gurtrude Miller; and his paternal grandmother, Rema Anderson. A celebration of life for Eric will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Road). Condolences may be left for the family at www.hillcrestmemorial.ca.
