Jennie Mindiuk
1931 ~ 2023

Mrs. Jennie Mindiuk passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, on October 2, 2023, at the age of 91. Jennie was predeceased by her parents, Jane and Kasmir Gill; and nephew, Terry Lewis. Left to treasure her memory are her son, Brian (Michelle) Mindiuk; her brother, Joseph (Alice) Gill and family; her sister, Mary (Gordon) Lewis and family; and all Jennie’s relatives and friends.

Jennie was born in Melun, France, on December 18, 1931. Jennie was 16 years old when she came to Canada with her family, in March of 1948. When they arrived in Canada, they were delayed for three days in Hudson Bay; from Prince Albert to Northside, they went by taxi, then from northside to the homestead at Paddockwood, was by horse and sleigh.

Jennie started her working career at the sanitorium, then her cooking career at Whitter Motors, Kresgies, Woolworths, and onto the Sheraton Marlboro, where she worked for 35 years until her retirement.

Jennie had a love for gardening, flowers, and cooking. Her pet dogs were known to everyone, which she loved to no end; Misty, Buster, Maggie, Carmen were all so special to her.

The Funeral Service for Jennie will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at River Park Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Reed officiating. Interment to follow at South Hill Cemetery.
