The new CEO for Egg Farmers of Canada is ready to get cracking.

Drew Black is set to take over the position from Tim Lambert who’s been with the organization since 2003.

“Egg Farmers of Canada is a well-known leader, and I have significant respect for what the organization has achieved throughout its long history,” said Black. “I look forward to supporting the growth of key areas such as on-farm standards, innovation, and sustainability within Canada’s egg farming sector.”

Black previously served as Executive Director of the Canadian Hatching Egg Producers.

He has also been the Director of Environment and Science Policy at the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and has sat on multiple federal and global advisory committees and roundtables which have advanced policies and regulations on animal health, biosecurity, and climate change.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge and in-depth experience from working within the agriculture sector for many years. His incredible passion for nurturing collaborative teams, which is something we prioritized throughout our CEO search, makes him particularly well suited to lead (the organization),” said Roger Pelissero, Chair of Egg Farmers of Canada.

Black’s first day will be Nov. 6, 2023.
