P.A. police investigating second recent shooting, unsure if incidents are related

Sep 13, 2023 | 12:18 PM

Prince Albert police are investigating a second shooting in as many days.

Around 6 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a home on the 1000 block of River Street West where they found one person injured after a gun was fired.

They were taken to the Victoria Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers determined that two men visited the home, and an altercation broke out between one of them and another person. It was during this scuffle that a small calibre firearm was discharged. Police confirm the two do know each other.

The two men who visited left the scene on BMX-style bikes.

This incident comes a couple of days after someone was shot outside of St. Mary High School. According to police, two men approached the victim and attempted to rob them. After a gun was fired, one fled on a bike while the other fled on foot.

Despite the similarities, P.A. police said it’s too early to say whether the incidents are related.

Moving forward, there will be heavy police presence in both areas to enhance public safety and provide security for residents.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers.
