Sep 12, 2023 | 5:08 PM

A notification to parents of students at Prince Albert’s Ecole St. Mary High School has confirmed that the victim of an armed robbery was a visitor to the school’s senior boys’ volleyball tournament.

The notification was sent to parents after an incident outside the school around 9:00 pm on Friday evening.

The victim of the armed robbery was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the victim was approached by two unknown men who demanded they hand over their property.

One of the suspects used a small calibre gun to shoot the victim and both suspects then fled, one on foot and the other riding a bike.

The school says police have told them there is no immediate danger to the public and that it was a random act.

The tournament continued on Saturday with an increased presence by police in the area and added school security.

Police have so far not identified the suspects and are looking for any information that might identify them.
