Sep 12, 2023 | 10:38 AM

The Waskesiu MS Bike will be September 16.

Who: Cycling enthusiasts and the MS community will come together to support people living with MS (multiple sclerosis) at MS Canada’s MS Bike Waskesiu event on September 16, 2023.

What: MS Bike Waskesiu is a one-day weekend biking event with the goal of raising funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis. This event is the last of 12 MS Bike events that happened over a four-month period across Canada. This year, the Waskesiu event has a fundraising goal of $190,000 with over $174,000 raised to date!

Event Highlights: This event is taking place for its 23rd time in peaceful Waskesiu, SK.

MS Bike Waskesiu features forested fall views and activities along the route. Participants will get to enjoy the fun of riding through the iconic Prince Albert Park, with indulgent pit stops along the way, like smores on the lake.

Riders typically come up for the event the night before and many rent out cabins and bring their families to enjoy the fall scenery.

  • Start time: Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 9:00 AM CT.
    • End time: Saturday, September 16, 2023 in the afternoon.
      • Riders finish at their own pace.

Where: Waskesiu Drive, Waskesiu Lake, SK S0J 2Y0.

Why: Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world with over 90,000 Canadians living with MS.

All Canadians are impacted by MS in one way or another, with approximately 12 people being diagnosed with the disease every single day.

Funds raised support Canadians affected by the disease by funding a variety of MS Canada’s programs and services such as the MS Knowledge Network, peer support groups, and more.

Funds also support research that investigates the causes, treatments, and pathways to cures for MS.
