Property crime on the rise in the Lakeland area

According to statistics provided by the Saskatchewan RCMP, property owners in the District of Lakeland have experienced a big jump in crime.

There were 14 reports of property crimes in the area in July and 26 in August.

These include 11 reports of break and enters, 14 reports of theft, 12 reports of mischief, one report of fraud, and two reports of possession of/trafficking of stolen property.

Prince Albert and Waskesiu RCMP are actively investigating these incidents.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to report all information about these incidents, or any observed suspicious activity, to their local RCMP detachment. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

The District of Lakeland includes both the Emma Lake and Christopher Lake areas, as well as a small part of Waskesiu’s detachment area.
